WHAT: Idol fever will take over Connecticut during the month of August as Connecticut Idol searches for the state's next singing sensation - and possibly the next American Idol!
HOW: Ladies and gentlemen 16 to 28 years old, eligible to work in the United States and legal Connecticut residents are welcome to audition. Singers have two chances to audition for Connecticut Idol, including:
Pre-Qualification - Show Hot What You've Got!:
Singers are invited to visit www.fox61.com to register for the chance to be one of 150 randomly selected to sing at one of three pre-qualification events on August 5, 13 or 19 at Westfarms mall. A Hot 93.7 DJ will select, based on American Idol judging criteria, 60 (20 each week) singers who will avoid the lines and be guaranteed an audition in front of the judges at the CT Idol audition on August 26.
CT Idol Audition:
The first 140 singers (first come, first served) in line at Westfarms on August 26 (registration begins at 8:00 AM) will be given a number and a chance to sing in front of the CT Idol judges (in addition to the 60 pre-qualified contestants).
CT IDOL JUDGES:This year's CT Idol audition judging panel is comprised of industry experts, including one of Bad Boy Entertainment's newest pop sensations, Cassie, as well as National Record Representative for RCA-J-Arista, Adrian Moreira; Artist & Repertoire (A&R) from RCA-J-Arista, Steve Ferrera and Hot 93.7's DJ Buck and Nancy Barrow.
PRIZES:
The Connecticut Idol Winner will be guaranteed an audition with the producers of American Idol in Seattle, including travel. He or she will also receive a $500 GO! shopping spree at Westfarms, a $1,000 gift certificate from California Closets and a special gift package from Rit Dye.
Two Runners-Up will receive a $500 GO! shopping spree at Westfarms.
Everyone Who Auditions will receive a Rit Dye kit and a GO! music card good for two free downloads from MSN music.
